FOR FELLOW DENTISTS

Clinical notes

Practice-oriented guides Dr. Ferit Çiftçi prepares for fellow dentists. Each one takes a single clinical question encountered in practice and follows the same order: clinical summary, case selection, a step-by-step protocol, common errors, level of evidence, a checklist and references. They are not peer-reviewed publications, and they are not patient information. General information for patients is on the Treatments page.

Articles

How are the notes prepared?

Each article starts from one clinical question, searched in PubMed. Systematic reviews, meta-analyses, randomised trials and guidelines are given priority.

Author, title, journal, year and DOI of every source are checked against its PubMed record; this confirms the reference, not the clinical validity of the finding. Findings are taken from abstracts only; the methods and results of the full texts are not assessed, and any exception is stated in the article's methods note. Numbers, rates or results that are not in the abstract are not included. No product or brand names are given.

The step-by-step protocols are clinical summaries built on findings taken from abstracts; they do not replace the full text or the guideline itself. Each article ends with what is known, what is not known and a short methods note giving the search date and topics.
